I'm not trying to be contentious here, but why would you want to do something like this?
If you have several different possible translations for the same source phrase, depending on the context, would it not be better to keep all of them available for reference?
Otherwise, how do you decide which of them to keep and which to discard?

The whole thing is optional. Of course you can keep several translations.
The trigger for my post was this question on Facebook:
DeepL translation:
Question for the CAT tool experts: I have several extensive TMs (sdltm) in which inconsistencies have accumulated, i.e. at least two different (although usually only slightly different) target segments for the same source segment. I would like to clear this up.
In my opinion, the quickest way would be to convert the TM to xliff and check it with Xbench, as this allows me to jump directly to the segment to be corrected.
Following questions: 1) Is this actually the fastest way to proceed or are there others? 2) If 1 = yes, what is the fastest way to convert the sdltm to xliff? I can only think of an extremely long way via tmx-> txt->excel->import two-column Excel into project. Thanks already for thinking along
